The following changes to the Institute of Rural health (trading as the Rural Island & Dispensing Doctors of Ireland (RIDDI) are proposed by the BOM and put forward to the AGM.
(a) To advocate for and support in every way possible our rural, island and dispensing doctor colleagues and their families, to both ensure their wellbeing and an acceptable level of GP and associated medical services in rural Ireland.
(b) To seek to work in equal partnership with all other rural stakeholder organisations who advocate for better health services and working conditions for medical practitioners and for the provision of adequate resources by government to stop the vicious circle of continuing rural depopulation through further loss of essential community services, and in particular to support the work of the rural practitioner in facilitating our older population to stay locally.
(c) Life President: To include the non- executive honorary position of Life President of RIDDI/Institute of Rural Health
